Earring Backs
Earring backs are generally one of two types: attached to the earring or clutch, which are found on post earrings and are seperate. Clutch backs are made of the same materials as the earring (usually) and push onto the post in the back of the ear. Lever-backs are the type that are on the back of a hook earring and clasp together in the back (like a lever). There are also just hoops which have a bent wire post that is placed inside the other end of the hoop. Finally there are barbells, where the end of the barbell screws onto the post, or captive ball rings (CBRs) where a ball is held in place as a closure for a ring, usually by pressure.
